It would be really cool if this plugin could be compatible with joomla 1.7. Hope I don't sound expecting, but since I last looked at it; it has gotten cooler.

Hi Josh. That's definitely the plan, but not quite yet. I first need to finish up another project, then I'll enable integration with other components other than Joomla's com_content, then Joomla 1.7 compatibility. I think it should be ready within about 2 weeks or so.

Thanks!

Now I'm no php expert, but I do know how to convert the xml file to work with joomla 1.7. (I've converted a joomla 1.5 template to work with joomla 1.7). So how's the upgrade going? (sorry to post again, but I need this extension very bad!) ;)

Sorry, I can't get to this right now. I need to take on projects to pay some bills at the moment - these components are written, shared and supported on my volunteer time and I just can't do this right now.

If you need this immediately, I would suggest posting a project at Joomlancers.com - it should be a very simple project and I bet there's a dev who could do it for around $30.

Although I did said "I very much need it" I'm not in a huge hurry. This plugin is not the only plugin I'm waiting on. Even when this one is upgraded, I still have to wait for jcomments and a few other extensions. I'm glad I got a response, I wasn't sure if it was mostly done or none at all, but now I got a good idea. I'm one of those kinds of guys who either will stay in touch with developers who upgrade their extensions or I upgrade it myself. ;) If I get good with php perhaps I can send you a copy of the new version one of these days.

That'd be great if you could share it if you get to it.

Joomla 1.6 was supposed to launch with a native commenting system, which still hasn't happened. If you're waiting on other extensions as well, it may be worth your while to continue waiting for native comments. I don't know the expected timeline, just something to keep in mind.

Alright, so today I'll upgrade the xml file to work with joomla 1.7. Now if there needs to be major changes in the php I have a few options.
1. Try and figure it out with joomla docs
2. Ask a Developer in the forums for help
3. Later down the road learn more about php

As for the commenting system, that's a shame that it never happened. But I do very much need for this native commenting system to show stuff like CB avatars and such. I am currently not using any comment system, but once I get the "Insert After First Paragraph" extension running, then I can try and get comment systems. You see I plan on using 3 comment systems, one for reviews, one for signing for a travel log, and the other for page discussion. I would use this plugin to make it so they automatically insert into a pagebreak at the end of an article in nice tabs.

Now here is a extension that perhaps one could use bits of the code for the conversion process?

Ok so here is the "semi joomla 1.7" version.
hikrs.com/host/tmp/insertafterfirstparagraph.zip

Only the xml file has been upgraded which in the backend at least for me it displays even better than on joomla 1.5. But keep in mind it still doesn't work with joomla 1.7 because I suppose there was a change in something that conflicts with the php file. Well at least we are one step closer. ;)

Also I inserted a .html file to make it hide in the directory, and of course added it to the file list in the xml file.

Here is an extension that does the job I want:
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/edition/editor-buttons/15910

I appreciate the work you have done. But the other one is joomla 1.7 compatible. ;)

Hi, does it mean that it would work with Joomla 2.5 as well? It is best plugin in this vein I ever found. It would be awesome to use it in new Joomla as well. Take care!

Hello there!

Is there some progress with new joomla (1.6, 1.7, 2.5) compatibility? Thanks!

Hi,

When I installed sharable in 1.7 environment it displays the below message for me.

Fatal error: Class 'JParameter' not found in C:\wamp\www\XXXX\plugins\content\sharable\sharable.php on line 24

Does this mean this is not working in 1.7?
