Joomla is an excellent CMS with many features and several advantages over other content management systems, and flexible enough to work for just about any website installation. However, Joomla’s flexibility comes at a price – all of the files, languages, modules, plugins, database calls, etc. can grind a website to a halt when there are too many visitors on the site at the same time. Many Joomla web sites are just too slow, but here are several things you can do to create a fast Joomla web site.

Don't Allow Plugins to Run on Modules

Uninstall Unnecessary Extensions

Joomla's ability to include modules, components and plugins is a key part of its flexibility, but that doesn't mean you should abuse it. Every plugin, module and component you install will increase your page load times and slow things down. Any extensions that your website doesn't absolutely need should be removed.
